Admission Requirements for Electrical Lineman School
Northwest Lineman College has an electrical lineworker's program and has campuses in Idaho and California. Their 2010 program catalog for the Idaho campus advises potential applicants to join a fitness center of gym in order to be sure that they're physically fit.
Physical Requirements for Electrical Safety Workers
Working as an electrical lineman is very physical. Climbing high poles and working with heavy equipment is no job for sissies. Consider also, the prospect of being called in to fix power outages in the middle of a thunderstorm and it becomes apparent that physical fitness, for an electrical lineman is as important as it is for any other construction job.

Expect to pay an application fee, lab fees and tuition. At the time of this writing, an informal survey of tuition ranged from $10,000 to $25,000.

The United States Government allows deductions for education and also for work-related supplies. Students who choose to join an Electrical Union or Utility Worker's Union may also be eligible to write off union dues. Students are advised to consult a tax professional for an assessment of tax liabilities in their favor.
